Philadelphia Portrait Gallary

These portraits are located in the U.S. Second National Bank building. They are owned by the City of Philadelphia; however, run by the National Park Service. We took a docent tour ... she was wonderful.

This is a MUST DO ... you can take photos, with or without flash and walk right up to the pictures. The quality is magnificant.

They say this was Jefferson's favorite portrait. Note, it is the only known portrait that gives him red hair.

This statue is made of wood. I would never have know by looking.

This first picture of Lafayette is when he was in his 30's. The second he was much older. Again, who would have guessed.

You've got to read about this guy ... he is the person that "wrote" the Declaration of Independence" that was signed.
